The HOW is easy. Google it. Read about it. Take a class. Ask an authority. Anyone can find out HOW to do something.
The WHY is the most important part of the equation. Without the WHY, the HOW loses meaning and has no purpose.
If I told you I would give you $20 to run across the street, you would probably do it. No problem. But, if I told you that there were burning coals in the street, you would probably turn me down because you don’t think it is worth it to burn your feet for $20.
But, if I tell you a loved one is in danger on the other side of the street, you would not hesitate to run across the burning coals. Why? Because you now have a purpose. A reason. A WHY.
This is the same reasoning that takes place regardless of the goal or circumstance. A person typically knows HOW to improve their health and well-being or can easily be taught. This person may even find a measure of success, but human nature suggests that doing something without being motivated typically leads to failure. A WHY is a motivator. A WHY “gets the job done”. Combining a HOW with a WHY typically leads to success.
Ask yourself these key questions to find your WHY:
Why do I exist?
What is bigger than myself?
How do I live my best existence?
What am I willing to sacrifice?
Am I willing to swim upstream?
Do I have the energy and stamina to make a difference?
What is my legacy going to be?
What does this have to do with health and well-being?
Finding a WHY is how you make real, lasting, life-long changes that affect your mental, physical and spiritual existence.
